Why are you seeking Board nomination?
I am seeking board nomination for the following reasons:
To be a passionate voice for students to the Adelaide University Sport Board. I believe that my appreciation for all sport would allow me to best represent the interests of all students who play sport for the university in an impartial and unbiased manner. To channel my ‘pride’ and ‘passion’ for my university sporting clubs and teams into a position that allows me to give back and develop the wider sporting community. I believe that sport is part of a balanced and healthy lifestyle. I would aim to use my position to encourage the students of The University of Adelaide to participate in physical activity, whether that be competitively or socially.

COVID-19 has had a profound negative impact on the mental health of university students. Upon the return to a more normal campus environment, I believe that sport can re-instate a sense of community and belonging. Sport is an essential part of the ‘university experience’. One of my goals on the board would be to further promote sport amongst the student cohort, in particular incentivise students who play for other clubs to join Adelaide University Sport.

Skills and Experience
I have a considerable amount of experience of working on committees and leadership teams, especially around pastoral care and event organising. Last year, I was on the AUCC Foundation Golf Day organising committee, which organised a large scale golf day at Flagstaff Hill Golf Club. One of the main priorities of this day, other than raising money for the AUCC Foundation, was to provide an opportunity for past, present and future players to develop stronger connections.

Also last year, I was on the St Mark's College Open Day organising committee. This committee was tasked with the organisation and operating of the open days to ensure maximum visibility for the college in the community and to attract students for enrollment in 2021. This year, I am part of the Residential Advisor team at St Mark's College. As a Residential Advisor, I am responsible for the mental and physical wellbeing of students and to foster an environment which promotes academic and cultural stimulus. Also at St Mark's College this year, I am the tutor for first year accounting students, providing them with academic support and to encourage them to take proactive steps in their careers.

Both of these roles operate within part of a larger team, the Deans Leadership Team (DLT). I believe that my experience at both organising events and providing support for other university students, has provided me with the skills to work effectively as part of a team. The experience of being on the DLT at St Mark's College, has allowed me to gain appreciation of what it means to work for an organisation working towards mutual goals. Being able to work with people of all difference ages and backgrounds is also another strong skill of mine that I feel would make me suitable to being on the Adelaide University Sport Board.

Sporting Interests

Why are you seeking Board nomination?
I am seeking re-nomination to the Board to continue to give back to the organisation that shaped my university experience. I have a strong interest in policy development and particularly want to focus on simplifying procedures to assist in keeping sports administration for committees as user friendly as possible. Collaborating on the consultation regarding the Adelaide University Sport brand, working with staff members, and drafting the Constitutional updates has been exciting and I hope to continue to be part of the leadership driving this diverse organisation forward.

Skills and Experience
Providing insight into current committees and student perspectives of how Adelaide University Sport operates is experience I can bring to the Board. My foundation for this experience has been my four years on the Touch Football Committee and experience in various executive roles. These practical experiences means I know the day-to-day challenges and rewards of running a club. I have a Bachelor of Psychological Science and will have completed my Bachelor of Laws at the conclusion of 2020. This education has provided me with the skill set to assist with policy development which is a key component of our successful organisation.

Sporting Interests
Touch football.

Why are you seeking Board nomination?
I am a Chartered accountant, currently working at Elders Rural Services as a Finance Manager and I would like to broaden my finance skills into other areas beyond my current workplace. The opportunity arose to apply for an independent position on the Adelaide University Sport Board, the sport and community aspect of the role has encouraged me to apply. The long history associated with Adelaide University Sport is very valuable and it would be a privilege to contribute to the continued success of the association in the areas of finance and risk management.

Skills and Experience
I am an accomplished finance and accounting professional with 16+ years experience in financial/management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning and decision support. Strong foundation built in Big4 chartered accounting firm (Deloitte) with effective analytical skills and commercial focus through experience in various roles across ASX listed organisations. While my experience has been in corporate organisations, my exposure to best practice internal controls and strategic planning are skills I could bring to the Adelaide University Sport Board. I have had exposure to corporate Boards through presenting and preparing financial reports and analysis to assist decision making.

Sporting Interests
I am not affiliated with any Adelaide University clubs as I am applying for the independent board role.

Why are you seeking Board nomination?
I wish to increase participation from students and reinvigorate the experience students are able to obtain whilst attending university. I have spent 5 years cross recruiting people between rugby, sevens and touch. I have organised several tournament trips which have allowed people to experience University Nationals Tournaments when their main sport doesn't attend. I bring an inclusive and inviting attitude that those have either been recruited, coached or played with me know how much I invest in the teams I am involved with, both on and off the field.

Multiple state teams across rugby sevens, touch, tennis, and athletics.

Why are you seeking Board nomination?
Throughout my time at the Adelaide University Football Club, I have been afforded many opportunities to develop personally and professionally, being challenged on and off the field. During my time on the Executive Committee, my studies and employment, I have developed professional skills to suitably assist in the legal and risk management portfolio. From first joining the football club in 2017, we have seen significant changes to our club and its dynamic, seeing the introduction of women's programs less than a decade ago. We have provided countless players to AFLW and SANFLW, while becoming the most successful club within the Adelaide Footy League in recent years.

As both a player and administrator, I have gained a broad understanding regarding off-field operations in an ever-evolving landscape for football. This understanding and my professional skill set would enable me to positively contribute to the Adelaide University Sport Board. I have found great pride in my representation of the football club and Adelaide University Sport and am seeking board nomination as an avenue to continue to invest into the furtherance of Adelaide University Sport.

Skills and Experience
Since 2018, I have served as one of the Player Representatives on the Executive Committee of the Adelaide University Football Club. Before seeking work in the legal field, I administered the women's competitions in the Adelaide Footy League as a Football Operations Officer. I also worked at the SANFL prior to this appointment. My experience within an Adelaide University Sport club, amateur and semi-professional environments has provided me with an understanding of the challenges and requirements of successfully running clubs. Further, I have been exposed to various levels of sport, all providing a platform for athletes to enjoy sport and seek opportunities to excel.

Sporting Interests
Senior Football - SANFLW at Woodville-West Torrens/Norwood (2017-current), AdelFL at West Adelaide/Adelaide University (2017-current). Represented South Australia on 8 occasions. Handball (beach and indoor) - played locally and represented SA at three national championships. Softball - 7 years within local competitions for West Torrens, representative teams throughout at national competitions. Dance - over 10 years at both state and national eisteddfods.
