AU Sport claim Basketball Championship at Indigenous Nationals

Adelaide University Sport were crowned Basketball Champions at the 2022 Indigenous Nationals last week.
The squad of 15 travelled to Brisbane to compete in the national tournament, where they would take part in four sports; Basketball, Touch Football, Netball and Volleyball.
AU Sport started the tournament off strong, controlling the basketball leg of the competition.
The team held off Australian Catholic University (ACU) to take out first place and put AU Sport in pole position after day one.
Waatu Women's player Tamika Reid was named the Women's MVP in basketball after her dominate display on the first day.
The next few days were tough for the AU Sport squad, coming up against some strong oppositions.
The squad finished 19th in Touch Football and 20th in Volleyball, but were able to edge closer to the top 10 in Netball finshing in 11th.
AU Sport finished 11th in the tournament, improving massively on the previous year.
