Elite Sport representatives from different Adelaide University (AU) Sports Clubs have been rewarded grants as part of the 2023 Pathway to Performance Program.
Applicants must be a member of the AU Sports Club and the grants are provided to individuals seeking support with:

- Support for high-performance focused capital purchases or coaching
- Elite athlete support for specific costs, eg gym membership, performance support services
The recipients so far include:
Jude Schirmer who represented SA at the National Rowing Championships in Perth earlier this year and came 11th overall in the 2000 metre open single scull and 2nd in the under 23’s quadruple scull.
Angus Higgins who competes in sailing and will use the funding towards four international sailing events that he will be competing in this year including: the Princess Majorca Regatta, French Olympic Week, the European Championships in San Remo, Italy and the World Championships in the Hagu.
Angus said competing in these events would provide him with some great opportunities to learn from the best in the world as the Olympic qualification year commences.
Runner Victoria Cholsh received her pathway to performance funding to assist with competing in the Uni Nationals on the Gold Coast earlier this year.
Victoria said she was delighted to not only receive the funding but to also record a personal best time and take home a Gold Medal.
“Going into the Uni nationals I was excited and nervous as I knew most of the athletes had similar personal bests over the 800m,” Victoria explained.
“Being so close in personal bests, it was an exciting race to run, and a fight for the win from gun to tape.
“I had a lot of fun and was stoked to take the win for Adelaide Uni, with a new personal best for myself”.
