Two scintillating wins leave the men’s team undefeated at home in their debut season and on track for a finals berth if they can keep themselves in the top four.

It’s a tough draw ahead for the Waatu men, who must now beat strong challengers, The University of Melbourne and Victoria University away from home to keep their chance of playing finals.

Spots in the finals are all-but sealed for UTS and University of Sydney, but the Waatus will have to battle it out with the likes of Victoria University, RMIT and USC Spartans for the final two spots.

Last Tuesday’s game saw the Waatu’s usual suspects dominating the court in a dynamic win over the Curtin Carnabys 82 – 66.

Wednesday’s team saw a raft of changes but the same dominant style of play against Federation University, where the Waatuw took the wind out of the ‘Falcons’ with a comfortable 93 – 71 win.

That makes it four wins in a row for the men, giving them a great run of form into the finals.

For the women’s team, a disappointing loss to Curtin University on Tuesday sparked a strong performance against Federation University the following day.

But a few key plays from the opposition in the last quarter meant that the Falcons just edged ahead in the closing minutes.

This leaves the women's out of finals contention for this season, but with nothing to lose they’re keen to bounce back in the coming games and get a win on the board.

The Waatu's head into the final round of the season with a week off in Round Six. Two wins for the men will seal a fianl appaernace in their debut season.
