Adelaide University Sport and the Adelaide University Romas are excited to announce that Ellie Konopka, Tiara Hatchard and Caitlin Stanley have all been invited to Rugby Australia’s Rising Stars Camp.

The camp is part of the Rugby Australia National Team Development Program, with twelve women selected to take part.

The program provides a pathway to the Australian Women’s Sevens team and ensures the ongoing success for tournaments such as the Olympics, Commonwealth Games and World Series.

Tiara Hatchard had a breakout debut year, where at the start of 2022 was representing the University of Adelaide in Basketball as part of the High-Performance team, the AU Waatus.

Since debuting for the Romas, the Physiotherapy student played an important role for the squad, suiting up in all three rounds of the UniSport Women’s Rugby Seven Series.

Fellow UniSA student Caitlin Stanley also received the invitation after a great 2022 season.

She too appeared in all three rounds of the season and was part of the big win against the University of Sydney in Canberra last weekend.

Ellie Konopka who led our Romas, has also been selected after a great season for the Romas.

Her leadership was an integral part to our season, but due to an injury will be unavailable to attend the program.

The training camp will begin on Tuesday, 8 November in Queensland and end with a two-day tournament at the Noosa Rugby Club.
