With Round 4 coming to a close after a scintillating set of a home double-header, we take a look at how the Waatus are doing in the UBL so far.

In both of their Round 4 clashes, the Waatu Men’s made the most of their home advantage and held out in a 74 – 69 victory against La Trobe Univdrsity, bouncing back from a tough one-point loss to the USC Spartans last round.

They followed that up the next day, as they stormed home with an impressive 85 – 70 win over RMIT University to cap off a very exciting week for the men’s side.

Individual standouts included Harry Reemst, Toby Hunt and Niko Stefanovic combining for a strong three-point conversion rate, which meant the men stood firm despite key omissions from the team.

Two positive results balance the ledger for the Waatu at 3 wins and 3 losses, leaving them in sixth spot on the ladder behind USC Spartans and RMIT on percentage only. Still a chance for a finals run, the men will need to finish in the top four to book their spot in a semi-final match up.

With a tough draw ahead, the men will need to win a majority of their next four games. They square off against Curtin University Carnabys and Federation University in our last home round for the season. The men will then travel to Melbourne to face the Unviersity of Melbourne and and Victoria University for the final round of the season.

The women came away from Round 4 less fortunate, with a loss to La Trobe University 120 – 42, and a tough defeat against RMIT, 63 – 45.

Strong performances from Tiara Hatchard, Brearna Grillet and Lateasha Lambert unfortunately weren’t enough to get a win, and the girls close out the round without a win, sitting in eleventh spot on the ladder.

Two home games against Curtin University Carnabys and Federation University gives our girls the next chance to chalk up a win.

Following that, the Waatu Women's will also travel to Melborune with the men's side taking on the University of Melbourne and Victoria University to close out what has been a tough first season.

With both teams eager to get some points on the board, home fans will have a great chance to cheer on the Adelaide University Waatus live at Adelaide Botanic High School in Round Five.
