UniMoves - On Campus Social Sport!

Are you looking to play sport but without the commitment or the cost?
AUSF are part of the UniMoves program, a UniSport Australia initiative inspiring MOVEment and active lifestyles at universities across the nation.
Play your way with Adelaide University Sport and Fitness' on campus social sport. 

   

OVERVIEW:

Who: All Adelaide University students and staff are invited to join in. 
When: We currently have sessions at various times from Monday-Friday
Where: Barr Smith Lawns, Maths Lawns, the Cloisters, and the North Terrace Campus Fitness Hub


What's on offer?

See more information on the sports and activities that are currently on offer below. Social Sport will run between the 2nd of August and the 29th of October in Semester 2.

Ball Sports
Need we say more?! AUSF are introducing single day sports Carnivals in Semester 2, so you can gather together a team and have a day dedicated to playing your sport in a friendly yet competitive tournament! 

Registrations for our Soccer Carnival are now open! To register, fill out THIS FORM. You can register as a team or an individual. If you register as an individual, we will place you in a team. We welcome players of all skill levels, and will also be running a training session the week before the carnival for players who wish to practice their skills in the lead up!

We will also have our casual cricket sessions on Tuesdays on the Maths Lawns. You can come as an individual or bring your friends. It’s sociable, fun and all skill levels are invited to come along. See the timetable for specific dates.

Gym Classes
The Fitness Hub are offering free participation in their Wednesday 12:00pm-1:00pm HIIT class as part of the Social Sport program. This class is held in the Function Zone within the Fitness Hub, The Old Uni Bar on Level 5 Union House East or outdoors on the Barr Smith Lawns. Bookings for this class are essential.

Racket Sports
Get your racket on at Uni. AUSF offer social badminton and table tennis EVERY THURSDAY on the Barr Smith lawns. You can come as an individual or bring your friends, as we form teams on the day. It’s sociable, fun and all skill levels are invited to come along. 

Outdoor Games
What better way to combat mid-week blues, or start your weekend off right than spending your afternoon at the Cloisters by the Uni Bar playing some of our casual lawn games with a group of friends? We have a selection of games, such as Finska, Giant Jenga, Cornhole or Spike Ball to name a few. Come along and have a go any Wednesday or Friday between 1:00pm-3:00pm.

Upcoming Events


Sports Week is BACK and bigger than ever for 2021! AU Sport will be transforming the Barr Smith Lawns into a Festival of Sport from Wednesday 15th - Friday 17th September. You can expect club promotions, free social sport, inflatable activations, prizes, giveaways and heaps more!
The VC Cup will also be running on Friday 17th September where the University's faculties and departments will battle it out over a 4 x 800m relay race to see who is crowned the fastest faculty on campus. CLICK HERE for more event details!

Join us in competing against other UniMoves Universities across the nation who are also participating in STEPtember! Adelaide University Sport and Fitness have a team set up for STEPtember, and everyone is welcome to join! UniMoves will be promoting leader boards for both steps and fundraising. Find out more about this challenge HERE to help us stay ahead of the competition!

In Semester 2, we are hoping to have some single day sports carnivals where participants can form their own teams to compete in a tournament. We will have a Soccer carnival which will be open to any student or staff member who wishes to participate. If this interests you, please fill out our registration form to sign up for the Soccer Tournament. You can sign up as a team or individual. Those who sign up as individuals will be placed in teams.
