The Rowing Nationals 2025 competition, held from March 24 to March 30 at Lake Barrington, Tasmania, saw an excellent display of teamwork. Representatives from Adelaide University Boat Club (AUBC) put on impressive performances against some of the country’s top rowers.

As the academic year wraps up, over 170 guests enjoyed a wonderful evening at the 116th Annual Blues Awards on Tuesday, October 29, at the National Wine Centre, celebrating the remarkable achievements of our AU Sport clubs and athletes. We proudly awarded three exceptional AU Sport clubs as 'Clubs of the Year,' while also awarding, Service to AU Sport, Volunteer of the Year, and Coach of the Year (Elite & Development).

Sports Week & 16th Annual VC Cup Wrap-Up: Celebrating Competition, Community, and Victory

Last week, Adelaide University Sport and Fitness hosted an action-packed Sports Week now in its second year of its extended version, culminating in the 16th annual Vice-Chancellor's Cup. Staff and students from across faculties and divisions came together for five days of spirited interfaculty competition, showcasing teamwork, athleticism, and a strong sense of community.

Adelaide University Sport and Fitness is excited to confirm the nominees for the 116th Annual Blues Awards, set to take place on Tuesday, 29 October 2024. Nominations have now been announced for the following awards: Patron’s Cup, Jessop Shield, Bennett Shield, Coach of the Year and Volunteer of the year (Non-student).

On Monday, October 14 from 12-2pm, Adelaide University Sport and Fitness will unveil its brand-new Fitness Hub at a special showcase event, highlighting the new facilities designed to enhance athletic performance and recovery. Located on Level 4, Union House (above the UniBar) at the North Terrace University of Adelaide campus, the new gym is poised to become a central hub for athletes and fitness enthusiasts alike.

Adelaide University Sport and Fitness is set to host its highly anticipated Sports Week and the 16th Annual Vice-Chancellor’s (VC) Cup from October 14 - 18, 2024, at the University of Adelaide North Terrace Campus. This year’s event promises a week filled with dynamic sports and activities, culminating in the exhilarating VC Cup—the race that stops the campus!

Four Alumni Shine at the Paris 2024 Olympics

Four young University of Adelaide alumni made the Paris 2024 Olympics team, including Maeve Plouffe (Marine Biology and Law) and Sophie Edwards (Health and Medical Sciences) in women’s cycling. Both aimed to build on their gold medal success from the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. For Maeve, this was her second Olympics, while Sophie made her debut. They finished an impressive 7th in the women’s team pursuit finals—an outstanding achievement!
